From November 20 to 23, we will be hosting a do-it-yourself upcycling Secret Santa workshop at Schüffnerstr. 1—also available on a daily basis—together with ADFC Chemnitz, BUND Chemnitz, SFZ Chemnitz, and Stadtfabrikanten Chemnitz!
Why throw away old bicycle parts and buy expensive Christmas jewelry? With just a few hours of work, you can create a unique piece from old 'crap' to give it away or put it as an eye-catcher in the Christmas living room!
You can do that too!
Whether it's a candle arch, chandelier, candle holder, Advent calendar, or whatever else… no idea is too crazy to be impossible to realize. We provide instructions, tools, technology, small parts, and help each other. The ADFC Chemnitz has collected unwanted bicycle parts from Chemnitz bicycle shops (thank you!). However, please feel free to bring any unwanted bicycle parts from your basement; old spoke wheels are particularly useful.
Registration strongly recommended!
Of course, you can also check by without registration. However, the capacity of the FabLab workshops on both event days is at a maximum of 15 persons or Workpieces limited. If you sign up online (see below), your work will take precedence and you will be prompted by e-mail to see if you are safe in the elf workshop!
Hot drinks, cakes, small snacks etc. (also vegan) are also available. Included is the use of workshops, welding work by a specialist, as well as of consumables and small parts (e.g. screws, varnishes, adhesives, candle holders, various bicycle scraps, etc.), as far as the stock is concerned.
A maximum of two project days should be enough!
If you want to paint your object or glue something, you can pick it up the next day or time, by agreement, - main thing carefully packed by yourself!
Further information and registration here ..

The individual event days are supported by the cultural capital Chemnitz 2025 and the SFZ Chemnitz - Kultur inklusiv(e).
